Sony's proffesional system employs a refined dichroic prism capable of separating incoming light into 3 processing colors (Red Green and Blue). Once separated, each of the 3 CCD's which has 470 000 pixels (PAL), outputs a single-color picture signal which goes through Digital Camera Processing. This process allows the DCR-VX1000 to extract the most subtle color information for vivid and rich color reproduction during playback.

The Super Steady Shot (optical) system eliminates image blur caused by high frequency hand movements during recording, delivering vastly sharper video results. Super Steady Shot can correct shaking without any picture degradation and no change of angle of view.

Popular in professional video cameras, DCR-VX1000 adopts magnesium alloy die-cast for the main frame and mecha-deck side cabinet. Both durable and lightweight, this solid frame is ready to withstand the most demanding heavy duty usage.

Boasting 180 000 pixels the high resolution LCD viewfinder allows you to adjust the focusmore easily in the manual focus mode. the color LCD also allows you to distinguish the subject more clearly, assuring you of vastly improved picture compensation.
