Overview:

Inscriber E-Clips works by creating Play Lists. These are sequences of clips you order into a preferred schedule. On your command or automatic trigger these sequences playout your scheduled video. Scheduled video playout includes seamless playback of a number of different supported file formats along with triggered VTR playback. This seamless clip and VTR playback allows you to insert entire shows, commercials, bits of news programs, whatever it is you need to put on-air, E-Clips can do it. E-Clips comes with additional features to aid in the process of getting your content, commercials, news and more out to air, including a digital store, automated file logging, clock creation and logo insertion, video capture, automation abilities and more. E-Clips is definitely more than you have come to expect from a video server.

Powerful Video Sequencing and Scheduling
E-Clips can schedule weeks of video at a time and can playout VTRs, digital video clips, full screen graphics, live video feeds and more. E-Clips can manipulate scheduling at anytime in the broadcast process. With on-line and off-line scheduling abilities, you can schedule Play Lists in advance or on the fly, the choice is yours. With Instant Clip Override clips can be changed seconds before going on-air, making E-Clips perfect for on-line or live programming. E-Clips' incredible interface allows for simple Play List creation, even while on-air, and its clip management ability allows E-Clips operators to easily organize and schedule weeks of programming simply and quickly.

Complete Control with an Intuitive Interface
Unlike other video server technology E-Clips offers complete control over playout with an intuitive interface for ease of use and unprecedented scheduling power. This interface is your access to the complete scheduling and playout power of E-Clips. Thumbnails mark each clip in a sequence making finding files and rearranging the schedule effortless and extremely fast. Trimming clips for playback is done simply using the intuitive Trim Window. E-Clips was designed for an on-line environment, so all of the E-Clips functionality, including trimming is accessible while playing out. You will quickly see how a well thought out interface will make learning new technology and getting content out to air a seamless process.

Clocks and Logos
With complete key control E-Clips can create realtime clocks, and display professional logos for station branding. Grab a logo graphic from anywhere on your network and import it into E-Clips. E-Clips also allows you to create clocks with complete control over font, size and style. You can drag and drop a logo or clock anywhere on the screen, and the video safe titling marker is there to ensure you have it exactly where you want it. Using the E-Clips logo Template Tool, you can save the look and position of your clocks and logos for a consistent design every time, essential for effective branding. You can fade logos in and out or set a transparency for subtle but effective 24/7 station branding. The simple interface means you can add logos and clocks in seconds and place them over video clips or live feeds at any time.

Digital Store
E-Clips has incredible browsing capabilities for extensive access and control over your network resources. With a Windows based system, the networking capabilities are advanced for easy retrieval of network resources. With thumbnails of clips displayed and easy to access, Play Lists can be created with very little effort. You can drag clips from the store window and drop them in the right position in the sequenced list. Use the Digital Store to manage all of your digital resources. The E-Clips Digital Store makes this easy by allowing keyword or file name searches. The advantage of a complete digital store integrated into a sequencer will be evident immediately as it improves operator efficiency and workflow.

Automated Playback
E-Clips can be configured to work with current automation technology for effortless playout that will integrate seamlessly into your broadcast system. Inscriber E-Clips is compatible with Harris/Louth and Odetics automation protocols. Attach your E-Clips system using a serial or ethernet connection and get direct automation control over your playout.

Full Capture Capability
Multiple channel E-Clips systems have the added advantage of simultaneous capture. This means E-Clips can capture live video feeds or VTR events while it is playing out. E-Clips can capture your video feeds as AVI, MPEG-2, DV25 or DV50 files, depending on your system configuration. These files can then easily be stored, sequenced and played out using E-Clips. Current customers are using this capture capability for everything from developing a store of live events to surveillance. Simultaneous capture and playback means you never have stop E-Clips playback and you never have to lose a moment of footage.

Video Formats
In addition to playing out live events and VTR content, E-Clips can playout multiple digital video formats, including

Remote Playback
E-Clips Remote Control Option connects E-Clips to any external device using a programmer's tool called the E-Clips Remote Interface. This remote interface provides hooks to all E-Clips functionality, allowing programmers to control E-Clips with virtually any device. Custom automation system integration, shotboxes, touchscreen monitors, any of these control solutions can be used to control E-Clips using the E-Clips Remote Interface. Programming of the E-Clips Remote Interface can be done using either C++ or Visual Basic. The E-Clips Remote Control Option makes it easy to integrate E-Clips into any environment with virtually any piece of hardware or software.

File Logging
The E-Clips Log Viewer facilitates unattended playback. The log files generated by the E-Clips Log Viewer keeps track of every file you play out and records what channel it played on and at what time. These log files can easily be exported as text based or ODBC compliant files in order to simplify billing. You can really reduce data entry and leave your system unattended knowing you will still be able to track E-Clips playout, even when you are not there.
